Canine Good Neighbour Test

Show the world what a good pupper you’ve got!

The test is non-competitive and allows dog and handler to demonstrate confidence and control in 12 steps. It assesses the handler and dog’s relationship, together with the handler’s ability to control the dog. Dogs are evaluated on their ability to perform basic exercises as well as their ability to demonstrate good manners in everyday situations.

Dogs of all breeds and mixes are welcome! You don’t need to be a member of the CKC to participate.

*You must have proof that your dog is up-to-date on vaccinations and has a valid municipal dog licence (if required in your area). All of the tasks and information about what is on the test is available in both English or French from the Canadian Kennel Club website. The fee to take the test is $25, and the test is available in English or French. If you have any questions, please contact your evaluator (Scarlett MacKenzie), not the location in which it is taking place.

Any breed or mixed breed dog is welcome to participate, but the following safety restrictions apply: – All dogs must have proof of current vaccinations – No intact females in season – Dogs must be a minimum of 12 months old – Dogs must be in reasonably good health (ie: not in pain when they walk or recovering from surgery) and have no communicable diseases – No reactive dogs (human or dog aggression)
